Japanese comics, or manga, are a large part of the graphic novel boom. Despite manga's popularity with kids and teens, it is hard to find in professional library literature or curriculum resources, and can be baffling to the new reader. During this session, participants will explore this cultural phenomena and:

• discuss the cultural context and differences
• explore genres and common themes
• review sources and recommended titles for various age levels and audiences
