Marking Multimedia Projects

Assessing the learner outcomes of a multimedia project is unlike a traditional written essay. Multimedia projects have many more components, and these projects can lead students to submit stylish products with little substance. This session provides teachers with methods for marking multimedia projects that ensure students are meeting the Learner Outcomes as designated by Alberta Learning.

  • Compare multimedia projects to traditional written assignments
  • Identify the characteristics of a good multimedia project
  • Create a scoring guide for both the process and product of an assignment
  • Assess three multimedia assignments using the scoring guide
  • Discuss ways in which meaningful multimedia assignments can used to assess both ICT and subject outcomes
