Canada Activities with Appleworks

Learn how to enrich your Canada unit of study with a rich collection of computer related activities using AppleWorks, and experience draw, spreadsheet, and database activities can bring new energy to you and your students! Activities such as comparing populations and area using a spreadsheet, and collecting quick facts about the provinces and territories using a database will be presented. Free templates will be distributed and step-by-step instructions will be demonstrated for completing the activities. Strategies will also be presented for using these activities in the one-computer classroom. Participants who attend this session will:

• use draw, spreadsheet, and database in AppleWorks
• consider activities for use in the Canada unit of study
• brainstorm activities for use in your own classroom
• use templates to create your own projects

Participants should bring floppy disks to save their own project templates.
