Library Promotional Materials - Create your own!

Your library has plenty to promote! Reading weeks, special events in your library, unique resources, author visits, and new book lists are just a sampling. This session looks promotional materials from various libraries, generates ideas, and gets you started working on some of your own projects. The goal is for you to take away one completed piece that you can use in your library the next day! Participants will use MS Word on a Macintosh or PC during this session.

• look at promotional samples from other libraries
• brainstorm events that your library could celebrate and promote
• plan a promotional item for your event
• use MS Word to create your promo item
• add graphics and use desktop publishing features to enhance the promo piece being created

This is a hands-on session. Participants will leave with a promotional item that they have created for their library.
