Creating Effective PDF documents using Adobe Acrobat

Publishing documents in PDF format allows you to share large documents across platforms and across the Internet very quickly and easily without having to do extensive conversion on the original files. Whether you are adding newsletters to your Web site or sharing documents with colleagues, getting them into PDF format allows you to share the documents electronically, preserve the original layout and formatting, and secure the documents so they can't be edited. In this hands-on workshop participants will:

  • navigate through PDF documents
  • consider different methods of creating PDF documents
  • create PDF files from word processing documents, PowerPoint presentations, and MS Publisher documents
  • learn to quickly edit text, add or delete pages, and combine multiple PDF documents using Acrobat
  • add bookmarks and thumbnails for easier navigation
  • add document descriptions to facilitate indexing on the Web
  • set security features to limit printing options
  • password protect documents to prevent modification

Participants may bring a newsletter or document in MS Word, MS Publisher, or Adobe PageMaker that they wish to convert to PDF for use during this course.
