Building Web Pages using Advanced HTML

The ability to apply the advanced features of HTML is an important aspect of designing professional, functional, long term Web sites. This course provides Web authors an understanding and practical experience with creating forms and image maps for their Web sites, in-depth practice with the use of Cascading Style Sheets in their Web design, and a few extra tricks to add some fun! This session covers:

• building HTML forms for gathering data
• designing and creating hotlinked image maps
• examining the types of Cascading Style Sheets in use
• using style sheets for fonts, text, colours, and backgrounds
• controlling the look of a site with CSS
• advanced tips for email linking
• adding splash pages to a site
• validating HTML code to ensure functionality

*This is a hands-on session. Participants leave with a web page they have built that includes advanced features covered in this session.
