Creating & Editing Graphics for the Web

It's no secret that graphics are what make web pages interesting and fun to explore. Whether you want to modify graphics from clip art collections or decide to create your own, there are tips and tricks for working with web graphics so they not only look good but load faster. This practical and fun workshop covers:

  • illustrated artwork vs. photographic images
  • an introduction to using colour palettes
  • how to speed up your graphics
  • creating background patterns
  • making images with transparent backgrounds
  • creating animated gifs
  • creating interlaced images

The focus of this course is on the standard concepts of working with web graphics, not on a particular piece of software. Concepts and skills covered in this session will apply whether you are using Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, PhotoDeluxe, Fireworks or another graphics editing package.
