Building Web Pages - an Introduction

An introductory course on building web pages that will give you a solid understanding of web page concepts. During this session, you will cover site planning, HTML, XHTML, Cascading Style Sheets, Authoring Tools and Site Maintenance Tools. You will work hands-on to create pages using current, introductory web publishing techniques. After completion of this course, you will have the skills needed to build a basic site or maintain one that is already operational whether you use HTML or an authoring tool. This session covers:

  • constructing web pages with current HTML (XHTML)
  • an overview of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
  • design & navigation considerations
  • adding and formatting text
  • creating lists
  • creating and targeting hyperlinks and email links
  • adding graphics to web pages
  • HTML authoring tools and converters
  • additional tools to help you maintain an exceptional web site
  • things to remember about copyright

*Participants will leave with a web page they have built and tested during this session.
