Introduction to Podcasting

Podcasts are audio programs, similar to radio shows, available for download over the Internet. Educators can use podcasting to teach, enhance and review concepts and lessons. Business people can use podcasting to help customers, vendors and clients use and understand services, products, and procedures. Makers of podcasts often update their podcasts using episodes to which listeners can subscribe and receive automatically upon publication of the podcast. During this session, participants will:

• discuss a variety of uses for Podcasting
• examine other Podcasts as examples
• create a Podcast

Participants will be introduced to GarageBand, a powerful tool that can be used to make podcasts and you will create a podcast as part of the workshop. This workshop is done using Macintosh computers but the skills and concepts are applicable to those using Windows computers.
