FTP with Internet Explorer 5+

Web browsers are no longer just for surfing the web! Take advantage of the full drag and drop FTP functionality built into your Internet Explorer (IE5+) web browser software. FTP allows you to move files between remote computers across the Internet very quickly and is most commonly used to upload Web pages to a server so they can be viewed on the Web. This course combines the File Transfer Protocol session with the specifics of using IE5 as your FTP software to upload and download files. This course covers:

• when and why you would use FTP to move files
• the types of FTP you can use
• the difference between each method
• invisible downloading with your web browser
• configuring & invoking the FTP mode in your IE5 web browser

This is a hands-on session. Participants will spend time moving files between their workstation and a server using Internet Explorer.
