Award of Excellence

Last weekend I was honoured to be named as this years recipient of the "Library Technician Award of Excellence" by the Alberta Association of Library Technicians. Those of you who know me also know that my formal education is Library & Information Technology and that one of my goals has always been to merge my love of the library field and my fascination with the computer industry. You can spot that happening in our course listings with all the specialized workshops and discounts we offer library staff. I am thankful I belong to a field that is worth promoting - it is the ongoing dedication and work of my peers that makes it an easy choice for me to continue supporting them in any way I can. Being recognized as having "made a major contribution to the library field in Alberta", even though I am no longer working directly in libraries, is most certainly an honour. Thank you.
